Florida Terrestrial
Restoration Project

Terrestrial Restoration

Longleaf pine forests, iconic to the southern U.S., are essential to Florida’s ecological health and resilience. At Withlacoochee State Forest, this project restores a fire-tolerant, drought-resistant ecosystem vital for biodiversity and water quality. By reviving these resilient pines, we enhance carbon storage, protect the Withlacoochee River watershed, a key water source for eight counties, and create habitats for endangered species. Your support helps secure Florida’s natural legacy and climate resilience.
