Project Highlights
In 2024, veritree celebrated several key milestones across its projects, showcasing innovation, impact, and collaboration in driving restoration and sustainability worldwide.

Sawle Lake: Our Smartest Forest

This summer, veritree launched its most advanced Smart Forest at Sawle Lake, Alberta. Featuring the upgraded GROOT system and SenseNet, it enables real-time monitoring and wildfire management. Starlink connectivity supports data collection in remote areas, reducing site visits. These innovations enhance forest recovery and address environmental challenges, setting the stage for scalable, tech-driven reforestation.

Pollinate & Protect

In partnership with EarthLungs, we’ve integrated beekeeping into Kenyan communities, supporting restoration and sustainable development. Beyond honey production, beekeeping promotes pollination and reduces deforestation. By offering a profitable alternative to charcoal, it protects forests while creating economic opportunities through the sale of honey, beeswax, and other by-products.

Donkeys on Duty

In Kenya, our newest team members are donkeys! These hardworking helpers transport saplings across Old Bonjoge’s hilly terrain, letting planters focus on planting instead of hauling. With their strength and smarts, they even find their way home after a day’s work. Going green has never been this fun or effective!

From Trenches to Trees

In Kenya, EarthLungs is restoring mangroves with an innovative trenching technique. Over 20 kilometers of channels optimize conditions by balancing salinity, preventing flooding, and safeguarding sediment flows. This approach tackles conservation challenges while empowering communities through training and fair wages, combining environmental and social impact.
